Objective: This training course is designed to provide participants with a good understanding of Kanban framework

Duration: 8 hrs

Tue &Thu, 5pm to 6pm (EST) for 4 weeks, OR

Sat & Sun, 11am to 1.30pm (EST) for 2 weekends

Target Audience:

  • Anyone who is looking to increase their knowledge and understanding of Kanban and how it can be applied in their personal and professional lives or in different industries and projects.

  • Individuals who are interested in learning Kanban or are new to Kanban and want to learn more about it.

Prerequisites: None. A basic understanding of project management concepts or workflows can be helpful, but not essential.

Course Overview:

This course will be delivered through a combination of lectures, a Real life scenario, group discussions, and practical exercises.

Introduction to Kanban Framework:

  • Definition & Overview of Kanban Framework, Kanban Principles, Overview of Agile Manifesto, etc.

Kanban Basics

  • Understanding the Kanban board, Creating and using Kanban cards, Limiting work in progress (WIP), etc.

Demonstrating Kanban Practice – Visualize the Workflow

  • Identifying value streams, Mapping the value stream, Visualizing the workflow, Designing the Kanban board

Demonstrating Kanban Practice – Limit Work in Progress (WIP)

Demonstrating Kanban Practice – Manage the Workflow (Kanban Metrics)

  • Measuring Metrics, identifying bottlenecks, continuous improvement through metrics

Demonstrating Kanban Practice – Make Process Policies Explicit

  • Specify Entry and Exit Criteria, etc.

Demonstrating Kanban Practice – Implement Feedback Loops

  • Cadence based Events

Demonstrating Kanban Practice – Improve Collaboratively, evolve experimentally

Advanced Kanban Concepts

  • Kanban cadences, Kanban swimlanes, Kanban classes of service, Kanban portfolio management, etc.

Kanban and Agile

  • Combining Kanban with other agile practices, implementing Kanban in a Scrum environment, etc.

Kanban Tools and Resources

  • Overview of Kanban tools, best practices for using Kanban tools

Wrap up:

  • Recap of Kanban Framework, Applying Kanban in your organization, business, or personal life

Some of the common next steps include:

Practical experience: Participants can apply their newfound Kanban knowledge by working on real-life projects and practising what they have learned

Continuous Learning: Continuing to learn and improve with Kanban.

Progressive Agile training: Participants can take in-depth Agile training courses in Scrum, to gain a comprehensive understanding the Scrum framework and its application.
